I learned how to create these awesome light designs by slowing down my shutter speed. Ever since Courtney at Click It Up uploaded a picture of a heart she created with a flashlight, I've been dying to try it too. This week she posted directions for how to get this effect with flashlights, car lights, and other moving light sources. I closed myself up in my bathroom. Propped my camera up on the vanity stool and gave it a try. I'm pretty proud of how the first try turned out. The hardest part was trying to write the word backwards so it would be correct for the picture.
**Note to all who attempt this. Practice writing backwards in cursive. It took some major brain power on my part. :-)

COOL! I am so trying this! Thank you for the inspiration! I had not seen Courtney's article yet.
Oooh, I have been wanting to try this, inspired by Courtney, as well. Maybe tomorrow I will go buy some glow sticks. It would be fun for the kids. Hmmm, but they can't really spell well. ;)
Oh my gosh! How cool is that??!!! I definitely want to check out that article!
Way to go! This looks great. Thanks for the insight.
Great job. I tried this last year & it took forever to get the letters just right! I like how the O kind of looks like a heart too!
This is so cool! Way to be creative!
I love it! It is very cool looking. I think light pictures are just the coolest.
I, too, have been wanting to try this since she posted it a few months ago. I am completely impressed this was your first try, as it is AWESOME. I'll have to try it for next week...if time allows.
so cool!!!!
Love this! I'm definitely putting this on my must do list!
Oh that is pretty cool!! Well done :-) Very effective.
Haha- I lock myself in the bathroom when I do this too- it's the only room in our house without windows!
Whether it was intentional or not, I love how the 'o' makes a little heart!
Good work! Love it!! I haven't seen that article (I'll be on the lookout for it now), but did do some flashlight fun of our own earlier this week... playtime with the kiddos. We just had random lines!
Wow...that is really cool!!!
NIce job!
Great photo. I love doing these.
I keep trying to do this but definitely takes some practice. Great Job!
Excellent, would never have known it was your first try at this.
I'm so inspired by this and I [haha] LOVE it! (no pun intended). I'm going to have to try this one of these days.
Great shot! I did this last spring and I loved it. It was so much fun! You did a great job as it's definitely not easy to write backwards!
This is fabulous!! Writing backwards is super hard! I tried writing love too!! I never thought to go into the bathroom though and went outside to do mine, which I'm pretty sure my neighbors thought I was crazy standing in the dark moving a flashlight around! Thanks for the tip :O)
